Tackle & Guns is the annual event where manufacturers and distributors showcase their latest and greatest offerings to retailers. Unfortunately, it’s trade-only but being the nice people we are, we thought we;’d give you a guided tour of the kit you’ll be seeing in Wychwood stockist over the coming months, a little teaser of whats on offer to get you hot under the collar! Let’s take a walk-through…
As you walk onto the stand you’re greeted by a plethora of carbon, more specifically the new ‘201-series of carp rods, which replace the ever-popular Solace range. These are the sexiest sub-£100 rods you are ever likely to see... MLT blanks offer you the perfect blend of power for casting and a soft forgiving tip to reduce any losses; carbon-effect reel seats and black locking collars look the nuts; there’s a carbon line clip plus stunning black Sea Guide rings, giving this the look (and feel) of a rod twice the price - your bank manager will literally be begging you to buy them! You will also see an all-new handle option, a retro-inspired full EVA handle. Coupled with our black Riot-S reels, we’ve just take good looks to new heights!
Turning turn you’re greeted by a wall of purple... our all new DPF (Deep Purple Filament) mainline. Already causing quite a stir across social media it was always going to divide opinion, but if you are forward thinking enough to get your head around the science then it can be a huge edge in your fishing. The wall is adorned with graphs showing how light reacts underwater; in short and rather surprisingly after countless tests, purple proved to be the best colour to blend in! Who'da thunk it?... Stepping away from the awesome colour a second the line itself is low memory, low diameter and ultra smooth, which means you can cast to the horizon. Did we mention the flourocarbon coating? Not only does it sink like a brick, it also adds a whole new layer of toughness to the line.

Moving swiftly round the stand a rather sleek looking plinth is topped with our new Water's Edge boots, which is our all new waterproof footwear designed to offer comfort and protection in even the wettest areas (no sniggering!). With speed lacing system around the ankle for superb comfort, plus a generous fit that allows the wear to don a pair of thick socks to up the insulation, these are boots that really do take on the elements and batter them into submission.
As we continue the tour you’re greeted by a number of our existing greats including the amazing D-Ploy bivvy system with its JAG products-engineered central boss taking pride of place. There’s also our super sleek Slims range of black metalware, Extricator, C-301 and C-101 rods with EVA handle options, and of course the unique and ever popular Slug indicators...
