Taking organisation to a new level in 2013, Wychwood were the first company to release the pioneering design of the modular rucksack, and 2017 sees the release of the Mk2 version. Complete with the same 600D outer fabric and bespoke SBS zips as the System Select luggage, it fits into the range in terms of colour, lifetime warranty and extremely durable quality. Uniquely in the range however, the Packsmart Mk2 retains its versatility and compartmental design which folds out to lay flat on the ground and give you the option of sliding it under your bedchair on a session.
The lid folds back with two buckle clips to release the lower chamber, and a further two clips allow the two central chambers to open outwards, offering a total of 5 large zipped compartments with the main one split into two. The lid has a smaller pocket for valuables or membership books like the previous one but that’s where the similarities end.
The back piece and shoulder straps have been significantly improved with vast quantities of padding and lumbar support added, which, coupled with the chest and waist buckles, makes for a very comfortable trip between car and swim, no matter the distance you travel when searching for carp. Further to this, the ingenious rain cover that has been installed in a stealthy rear pocket on the other bags within the System Select range is also adorned on the Packsmart Mk2 and there’s even a new phone pocket on the shoulder strap, all for the same retail price as the original at £74.99.
